Jennifer Whiting has served as Music Director for the Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Chorale since 2021. Throughout her career, she has taught classes and applied lessons at all levels from preschool through community college. Since 1990, she has conducted auditioned and non-auditioned choirs including DeKalb Festival Chorus, Rock Valley Master Chorale, and Northbrook Community Choir. She has been a church musician most of her life, most recently as Director of Music and Choir Director at Gary United Methodist in Wheaton for ten years.
Jennifer earned a bachelor's degree in piano and English with a minor in art from Rockford University, a master's degree in choral conducting from Northern Illinois University, and a post-master's performer's certificate in conducting, also from NIU.
She is an active member of Music Teachers National Association, ISMTA, Chorus America, American Choral Directors Association, and serves as District 9 Representative for IL-ACDA. She maintains a piano and voice studio in her home.
Jennifer and her husband, Rob, live in Huntley, IL, near their married children. They enjoy special times together with good food, board games, and granddogs. Jennifer also loves traveling, attending concerts, and wandering through the Art Institute. She is most passionate about leading singers in joyful and transcendent musical experiences.
