Alto 2 and Tenor voices.
The Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Chorale is a 60+ member auditioned group. Membership is open to all adults (18+ years of age) regardless of area of residence. Specifically and explicitly, there shall be no barrier to membership based on age, sex, race, religion, or creed. Members come from a variety of backgrounds and musical experience. The Chorale performs two major concerts annually, as well as other performances at select venues. We sing a wide variety of music ranging from classical to contemporary, often incorporating string ensembles and other instrumental soloists.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The Chorale's season runs from September to May with seasonal concerts in November/December and April/May. There is a yearly registration fee and there will be a cost for concert attire.
Auditions for the Chorale are generally held in August and December for openings in specific voice parts. Auditions take place with the Music Director, who conducts a short interview/vocal evaluation and then determines placement. Auditions for the smaller Ensemble group are usually held the second week into the session, and the Ensemble Director conducts an interview/vocal evaluation and determines placement.
